How much can I earn & what is the fee breakdown?

Rates vary by location and amenities (shore access or proximity to town), but many hosts find their dock can pay for the property’s annual maintenance and taxes in just a few summer months.
OnBuoy hosts retain 85% of their nightly rate. OnBuoy guests pay the nightly rate plus a 15% service fee & damage waiver fee.

Do I have to let boaters provide shore access?

Not at all. Many of our hosts offer "vessel-only" moorage, meaning guests stay on their boat and do not have access to the home or upland property. You set the boundaries.

Can I set specific blackout dates?

Yes, you can easily set specific blackout dates on your OnBuoy moorage calendar to indicate periods when you won't be able to accommodate guests. This ensures flexibility and allows you to manage your availability based on your schedule.

What if I have an Airbnb guest at the same time?

That is the beauty of OnBuoy! As long as your local regulations allow it, you can host both. We recommend disclosing in your Airbnb listing that the dock may be occupied by a boater during their stay.

What are the requirements to list my moorage on OnBuoy?

At OnBuoy, the safety of our guests and hosts is our top priority. To ensure this, OnBuoy requires that every moorage listed on the site provide proof of an inspection by a qualified professional within the past 12 months. This ensures the moorage meets safety standards and can reliably accommodate vessels.

I own multiple mooring buoys or dock spaces. Can I list more than one on the service?

Yes. You can list as many moorages as you want with OnBuoy as long as you are the owner of the moorage you are adding to the site and the moorages have been inspected in the past 12 months.
